About this performance

Join Karen Kyriakou and the musicians of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as they investigate music’s most famous four notes and beyond!

Beethoven’s 5th Symphony is one of his most recognised and well-loved works, characterised by its unforgettable opening. Throughout this highly interactive concert, students will explore Beethoven’s incredible work through active participation and listening whilst discovering the sights and sounds of the orchestra.

While school excursions are not currently allowed due to COVID restrictions, we anticipate they will be permitted by August. Book now with the confidence that, should restrictions be in place, bookings are fully refundable.

Orchestra safety on stage
The safety of our musicians, staff and audience remain the highest priority as we return to the post-COVID concert hall. In conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria and Arts Centre Melbourne, the MSO has begun rapid-result, asymptomatic testing for all members of the Orchestra and on-stage production staff. As such, you may notice that our musicians are not wearing masks while performing, and that they may be spaced more closely together than previously.

Stay tuned. Sign up.
